Summary: This is a super property, effectively 2 villas a little distance apart from one another, set in a spacious, shady tropical garden with various kinds of exotic palm trees and a swimming pool. Surrounding this are acres of olive trees and open countryside. It's very private, quiet and secluded - but actually the pleasant small town of Ugento is only about 2 kms away, with a good supermarket (Lidl) and several coffee bars, and easy access to the main Gallipolli to Leuca A road. Pierluigi and Roberto looked after our booking and with any queries or minor problems most effectively. We booked to have meals cooked for our party on 3 evenings during our stay, and their mama AnnaRosa did a wonderful job of cooking delicious, substantial meals with lots of interesting local specialities for us. She's a great character and the fact she speaks no English was never an obstacle! The main kitchen was pretty well equipped, with plenty of glasses and china, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, a large fridge and a brand-new toaster. Plenty of saucepans and frying pans, but not enough baking dishes for use in the oven (a very minor point). The star of the show was the excellent swimming pool - quite large and deep, it seemed to be always at the perfect temperature to cool you down in the heat without there being any cold-water shock getting in. The water surface overlaps the sides so that any insects or leaves that fall in are quickly removed to the drainage channels, so the water surface was always clean. The bedrooms were comfortable with effective air-conditioning systems, and window shutters which can completely block the daylight.
