This wonderful spacious light and airy traditional villa is easily accessible, situated only 25km from Pisa airport, 2km from the motorway for stress free exploring, and just a few minutes from the delights of Lucca. When you don't want to drive, there is a restaurant within walking distance and we can also arrange for local chef to cook for you on request.
The historic villa spans 3 floors and retains some original features such as traditional flooring & windows, internal shutters, stone staircases, and beamed ceilings. Perfectly located in the countryside around 3km from the medieaval fully walled city of Lucca and only 900M walk from a restaurant, bar and local basic shopping.
Lucca - 3km and Lucca train station is just 4km if you prefer to explore by train. The train station of Lucca regularly serves Florence, Pisa, and the seaside direct and there is also access to Siena and Montecatini etc with one change.
In Lucca itself there is so much to do . Choose from regular food and craft markets, antiques markets, outdoor concerts, designer shopping, children's parks, plenty of great restaurants and bars and gelaterias. There are beautiful Piazzas for watching the world go by with your coffee or a glass of Prosecco, or if you feel energetic climb up a tower to see the city from the rooftops! There are 99 churches to visit too. Almost every evening there is a Puccini recital in one of the churches which really is a great experience, with different artists daily. If you visit in July then there is the Lucca Summer Festival with many renowned international acts playing here outdoors in intimate venues. The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Simply Red, The Killers, Toto, John Legend, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, Paolo Nutini, Liam Gallagher, Mark Knoffler and many more play here.
Everyone's favourite however is cycling around the fully intact walls surrounding the city. There are plenty of places to hire bikes and sometimes guests at the villa hire them for a period and cycle into Lucca....
