Positive: We had a fantastic family holiday at Verahouse as a multi-generational family of 7. The house provided us with ample space to accommodate us all. Despite its size, the structure of the house lets itself to divide the sleeping space into two separate sections: the grandparents stayed in the ground-floor living-room, which has a double sleeping couch and air-conditioning (!) and the ground-floor bathroom (incl shower), and this whole area can be sectioned off by a door. There is a second side entrance into the house through the kitchen, which allows other visitors to enter the house without going through the living-room. From there, you can enter the downstairs part of the house which sleeps another 5 people, with a second bathroom (incl shower). As a family, we mostly spent time together at the kitchen table or in the ample outside garden space with balcony. There was excellent WIFI at the location, which was very important for my teenager. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could need on a holiday, with dishwasher, oven, microwave and washing machine. We used the bikes which were provided free of charge to cycle to the beach or the nearby supermarket. However, we used the car to get to the beach with smaller kids, as it was too far for them to walk in the heat. Same in relation to the town promenade - Viareggio has great nightlife! We also used the nearby train station for trips to Pisa, Florence and Cinque Terre. Last but certainly not least, Polia was the nicest host I have ever met on my travels! We had a few medical emergencies involving my kids, and Polia was just brilliant, organising next day appointments and getting things sorted for us in the house! She showed us great kindness and was extremely responsive to texts if we had any issues or concerns. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxed, Italien experience at a low budget!
